पञ्चाघ्नाच्छशिनः फुटादिशुहतं भानुस्फुटं शोधयेन्नीत्वा तत्र तिथिं सिते शुभतिथौ पुत्रोऽस्त्ययत्नादपि । कृष्णे नास्ति सुतस्तिथेर्बलवशाद्ब्रूयाद्द्वंयोः पक्षयोः दर्शे च्छिद्रतिथौ च विष्टिकरणे न स्यात्स्थिराख्ये सुतः

സൂര്യന്റെയും ചന്ദ്രന്റെയും സ്ഫുടങ്ങളെ (ഗ്രഹസ്ഥാനങ്ങളെ) പഞ്ചഘ്നം കൊണ്ട് ഗുണിച്ച്, ലബ്ധമായ സംഖ്യയിൽ നിന്ന് ശുഭഗ്രഹങ്ങളുടെ സ്ഫുടങ്ങളെ കുറച്ചാൽ, ആ സംഖ്യയെ ചാന്ദ്രമാസത്തിലെ തിഥി കൊണ്ട് ഹരിക്കണം. ശുക്ലപക്ഷത്തിലെ ശുഭതിഥിയിൽ ഈ ഫലം ലഭിച്ചാൽ…
