पञ्चाघ्नाच्छशिनः फुटादिशुहतं भानुस्फुटं शोधयेन्नीत्वा तत्र तिथिं सिते शुभतिथौ पुत्रोऽस्त्ययत्नादपि । कृष्णे नास्ति सुतस्तिथेर्बलवशाद्ब्रूयाद्द्वंयोः पक्षयोः दर्शे च्छिद्रतिथौ च विष्टिकरणे न स्यात्स्थिराख्ये सुतः

पंचांशकांनी गुणिलेल्या चंद्राच्या स्पष्ट अंशातून सूर्याच्या स्पष्ट अंशांची वजाबाकी करून ती संख्या शुक्ल पक्षातील शुभ तिथीशी जुळवून पहावी; जर ती तिथी शुभ असेल तर प्रयत्नाशिवायही पुत्रप्राप्ती होते. कृष्ण पक्षात अशी तिथी आढळल्यास बलविचाराने…
