त्यागात्मवान्क्रतु वरैर्यजते च यूपे हिंस्रोऽथ गुप्त्यधिकृतः शरकृच्छराख्ये । नीचोऽलसः सुखधनैर्वियुतश्च शक्तौ दण्डे प्रियैर्विरहितः पुरुषान्त्य वृत्तिः

ತ್ಯಾಗಾತ್ಮವಾನ ಕ್ರತು ವರೈರ್ಯಜತೇ ಚ ಯೂಪೇ ಹಿಂಸ್ರೋಽಥ ಗುಪ್ತ್ಯಧಿಕೃತಃ ಶರಕೃಚ್ಛ್ರಾಖ್ಯೇ | ನೀಚೋಽಲಸಃ ಸುಖಧನೈರ್ವಿಯುತಶ್ಚ ಶಕ್ತೌ ದಂಡೇ ಪ್ರಿಯೈರ್ವಿರಹಿತಃ ಪುರುಷಾನ್ತ್ಯ ವೃತ್ತಿಃ || ಶರಕೃಚ್ಛ್ರ ಎಂಬ ಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿದವನು ತ್ಯಾಗಶೀಲನಾಗಿ, ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಯಜ್ಞಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ…
