अयन क्षण वासरऋतवो मासोऽर्धं च समाश्च भास्करात्। कटुक लवण तिक्त मिश्रिता मधुराम्लौ च कषायेत्यपि

ஆயனங்கள், க்ஷணங்கள், நாட்கள், பருவங்கள், மாதங்கள், அரை ஆண்டுகள் மற்றும் ஆண்டுகள் ஆகிய அனைத்தும் சூரியனிடமிருந்தே தோன்றுகின்றன; அவனிடமிருந்தே காரம், உப்பு, கசப்பு, கலவை, இனிப்பு, புளிப்பு மற்றும் துவர்ப்பு என்னும் சுவைகளும் பிறக்கின்றன…
