ईश्वरोवाच । चन्द्रं सूर्येण चाकृष्य स्थापयेज्जीवमण्डले । आजन्मवशगा रामा कथितेयं तपोधनैः

ಈಶ್ವರನು ಹೇಳಿದನು: ಚಂದ್ರನ ಉಸಿರಾಟವನ್ನು ಸೂರ್ಯನ ಉಸಿರಾಟದ ಮೂಲಕ ಎಳೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ಜೀವನ ಮಂಡಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಬೇಕು. ಹುಟ್ಟಿನಿಂದಲೇ ವಶರಾದ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರು ಇದರಿಂದ ಆಗುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂದು ತಪೋಧನರು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿವನು ಉಸಿರಾಟದ ಒಂದು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಗಹನವಾದ ರಹಸ್ಯವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ…
