Sutra 1.11

त्रितय भोक्ता वीरेशः

Translation The Lord of the Heroes is the enjoyer of the triad.

Meaning The "triad" refers to the fundamental structure of ordinary experience: the knower, the known, and the act of knowing. In our daily lives, we feel fragmented, believing that we are a small subject observing a separate object through a specific process. This sutra reveals that the true nature of reality is not this fragmentation, but the singular, sovereign consciousness that simultaneously holds and experiences all three aspects as its own playful expression.

This consciousness is called the "Lord of the Heroes" because it requires immense spiritual courage to recognize oneself as this all-encompassing subject. The "hero" is the seeker who dares to stop identifying with the limited object or the fleeting thought and instead claims the position of the ultimate experiencer. When one realizes that the observer, the observed, and the observation are nothing but vibrations of one's own divine energy, the sense of lack vanishes, and one becomes the master of one's universe.

Contemplation Throughout your day, whenever you notice a strong reaction to an external event, pause and silently identify the three components present: yourself as the feeler, the situation as the felt, and the feeling itself as the connection. Instead of getting lost in the story of the situation, shift your attention to the space that contains all three. Rest in the awareness that you are not just the person reacting, but the vast, heroic consciousness that is effortlessly enjoying the entire display of the reaction, the reactor, and the world.

A contemplative reading in the spirit of the Kashmir Shaivism (Trika / non-dual Tantra) tradition — an aid to reflection, not a substitute for a living teacher or the classical commentaries.
