आसनस्थः सुखं हदे निमज्जति

Translation Seated in the posture, one happily immerses in the Heart.
Meaning This sutra reveals the fruit of Anavopaya, the individual means, where the seeker utilizes the body and breath as vehicles for realization. The phrase "seated in the posture" does not merely refer to physical stillness or a specific yoga pose, but to a state of total inner stability where the fluctuations of the mind have settled. When the practitioner is firmly established in this equilibrium, the effort to seek the Divine outside oneself dissolves, and the natural tendency of consciousness to return to its source becomes effortless and joyful.
The "Heart" here is not the anatomical organ nor the emotional center, but the Hridaya, the supreme spiritual core where Shiva and Shakti dwell in non-dual unity. To "happily immerse" signifies that this return is not a struggle or a grim duty, but a homecoming filled with bliss. As the limited sense of individuality melts away in this immersion, the seeker discovers that the separation between the meditator, the act of meditation, and the object of meditation has vanished, leaving only the vibrant pulse of pure awareness.
Contemplation Throughout your day, pause briefly to check your inner posture. Without changing your physical position, ask yourself if you are mentally leaning forward into anxiety or backward into memory. Gently straighten your inner spine by releasing these tensions, and visualize your awareness sinking like a heavy, warm stone into the center of your chest. Rest there for a few breaths, feeling that this central space is not empty but full of a quiet, bubbling joy that requires no cause.
A contemplative reading in the spirit of the Kashmir Shaivism (Trika / non-dual Tantra) tradition — an aid to reflection, not a substitute for a living teacher or the classical commentaries.
